Operational since 2009, the Gold Coast Desalination Plant plays a vital role in securing South East Queensland’s water supply – particularly during droughts, floods, or when conventional water treatment plants are offline. This guided tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the desalination process, the plant’s integration with the SEQ Water Grid, and how desalinated water is distributed across the region to enhance long-term water security.
