The SWELL Sculpture Festival, Queensland’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibition, returns to Currumbin Beach from September 12 to 21, 2025. Now in its 23rd year, the festival continues to captivate audiences with its diverse array of large-scale sculptures by local, national, and international artists. This year, SWELL invites visitors to immerse themselves in a dynamic program that blends art, architecture, and design in a celebration of creativity and place.

SWELL 2025 offers a comprehensive program designed to engage audiences of all ages and interests. Highlights include:

  • Guided Sculpture Walks: Daily tours led by curators provide in-depth insights into the artworks and the artists behind them.

  • Workshops and Masterclasses: A variety of hands-on sessions, such as “Form & Feather” and “Paint & Sip,” allow participants to explore their own creativity.

  • SWELL Kids: Interactive activities like “Seedling Planter Workshop” and “Play With Clay” offer young visitors the chance to engage with art in a playful setting.

  • SWELL Fringe: A vibrant lineup of live music, including performances by Jeff Raglus & Victoriana Gaye and The Yams & Luja Murfi, adds a dynamic soundtrack to the festival experience.

  • Artist Talks and Panels: Engaging discussions provide deeper understanding of the creative processes and themes explored in the sculptures.
