Kurrawa Surf Club

The $15 million Kurrawa Surf Club was purpose designed to cater for two aligned bodies that use it. For the parent surf club, there are large assembly and congregation areas and a massive basement - for the first time in the club’s 60 year history, it has space to store hundreds of surf boards.

The associated supporters club has been outfitted with state of the art restaurant kitchen and functional modern bar. Gaming is out of sight. Two lifts are located at strategic entry points. A beachside cafe sells food and drink to those coming straight off the beach or looking for takeaway.

The exclusive Level 2 function room offers a private space and balcony, catering to a vast range of events.  Rainwater is harnessed to use in gardens and wash down. The building won the Clubs Queensland’s Best Development over $2 million award. It was a Property Council Australia Innovation and Excellence Award finalist and Architect Institute of Australia nominee.
