Couran Cove

Maritime village resort Couran Cove, set over 150 hectares in the dunes of South Stradbroke Island, was designed by Daryl Jackson with eco-cabins by Origen Architects in 1998.

Design and build of Couran Cove employed best practice in regards to environmental impact and planning, island architecture and materials, landscape and rehabilitation, water sensitive design, recycling and waste disposal, fauna conservation and environmental education.

The resort comprises waterfront apartments, villas and forest eco-cabins surrounding the village hub comprising marina, cafes, restaurants, bars, convention centre, day spa, leisure and sporting activities and a beachfront function facility. It also has its own power station and waste recycling facility.

The complex is surrounded by rainforest and native bushland which are home to a variety of flora and fauna, including more than 200 bird species.
