Maritime village resort Couran Cove, set over 150 hectares in the dunes of South Stradbroke Island, was designed by Daryl Jackson with eco-cabins by Origen Architects in 1998.
Design and build of Couran Cove employed best practice in regards to environmental impact and planning, island architecture and materials, landscape and rehabilitation, water sensitive design, recycling and waste disposal, fauna conservation and environmental education.
This informative guided tour in 15 seater buggies will visit the waterfront apartments, villas and forest eco-cabins surrounding the village hub comprising marina, cafes, restaurants, bars, convention centre, day spa, leisure and sporting activities.
See the power station that runs the resort, waste recycling facility and venture across the island to the beachfront and function facility located there.
Along the way, you'll travel through the rainforest and native bushland surrounds which are home to a variety of flora and fauna, including more than 200 bird species.
After the tour, enjoy some free time to explore the resort at your leisure, have lunch at the cafe or restaurant or one of the designated waterside picnic spots.
