Historic Ceramic House exemplifies early 20th century development in Nerang. Homes built in the Queenslander style become increasingly rare as development transforms rural areas into suburban environments.
Relocated to make way for the M1 motorway, the house was shifted to Bischof Pioneer Park and sympathetically restored by members of the Nerang Community Association. It continues to demonstrate the principal characteristics of an early timber and iron domestic dwelling.
Ceramic House is a much-valued visitor information centre, museum and community building and is treasured by those who knew the family of Ekin Veivers who built it, local school children, and the wider Nerang and Gold Coast communities.
