Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, has been announced as the Patron of Gold Coast Open House for the duration of her term in office.
The Governor will be familiar to many Gold Coast Open House supporters from her role as the Chief Health Officer for Queensland who helped lead the state through the COVID-19 virus outbreak in 2020 and 2021. She was sworn-in as the Governor of Queensland on 1 November 2021.
Gold Coast Open House Chair Dr Rosemary Kennedy said that Gold Coast Open House warmly welcomes the Governor as patron.
“We are delighted to have the support of Her Excellency in our endeavour to share the ideals of the global Open House movement and bring this wonderful annual celebration of the extraordinary built environment of the Gold Coast to life for visitors and residents.”
