Coolangatta Heritage Coastal Walk

This scenic coastal walk through one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic headlands explored the unique intersection of natural beauty, urban development, and cultural history. Starting at the Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse at Point Danger, this guided tour followed the shoreline toward Greenmount, offering sweeping ocean views and thoughtful commentary along the way.

Led by Amanda Pontifex and Anya Tran, the walk highlighted the area’s rich coastal heritage — from its layered geological past and maritime history to its evolution as a vibrant surfside community.

The itinerary included:

  4. Jack Evans Porpoise Pool
  5. Rainbow Bay SLSC
  6. St George’s Hostel
  7. Norfolk Island Pine Trees
  8. US Navy Rest Camp No. 4 and Greenmount Guest House
  9. Water Cascades
  10. Tweed Heads & Coolangatta SLSC
