Coolangatta Heritage Lighthouse and Coastal Walk

Take a scenic coastal walk through one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic headlands, exploring the unique intersection of natural beauty, urban development, and cultural history. Starting at the Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse at Point Danger, this guided tour follows the shoreline toward Greenmount, offering sweeping ocean views and thoughtful commentary along the way.

Led by Amanda Pontifex and Anya Tran, the walk highlights the area’s rich coastal heritage — from its layered geological past and maritime history to its evolution as a vibrant surfside community. You’ll also explore how planning and design have responded to the challenges and opportunities of this dynamic edge zone between land and sea.

Ideal for those interested in coastal environments, urban design, and local stories, this walk invites participants to reflect on how natural and built landscapes coexist — and how they continue to shape one another.
