Discover how architecture shapes the world — blending creativity, sustainability, science and technology.
10:00am, Saturday 27 September
Calling all Year 10, 11 and 12 students curious about a career in architecture!
Architecture shapes the way we live — from the buildings we design to the environments we create. It blends creativity, environmental awareness, science and technology, offering a unique career that impacts communities locally and globally.
Join a session at DBI’s offices – a major Gold Coast architecture practice on Saturday 27 September for a workshop that will give you the chance to:
- Work in groups on a real design brief, tackling ideas and solving problems.
- Learn from architects and university representatives about study pathways and career opportunities.
- Ask questions and gain insights into what it’s really like to be an architect.
If you’re passionate about design, sustainability, and making a difference, this workshop is for you.
Gold Coast Architects, DBI was founded in Australia in 1980. For over 40 years, the firm has always been driven by innovation in both form and function, putting the human experience as the centrepiece of every project outcome.
Their successes are due to the approach we undertake for every project. Derived from decades of enriched culture and forged by creative thinking and invention, we pursue a vision that connects people to each other and the environment around them.
Their design ethos is based on the seamless integration of the built structure, the direct environment in which it lives and the positive lifestyle interaction it generates through its urban inhabitancy.

Gold Coast Open House proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our events are held, the Kombumerri and Yugambeh Language Group families of the Gold Coast. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their continuing connections to the lands, waters, wildlife and extended communities throughout South East Queensland.
