OPEN HOUSE WORLDWIDE
Open House Worldwide
Open House Worldwide is a network of almost 60 organisations hosting festivals and dialogue about architecture, design and cities across the globe.
In 2023, 1.2 million people visited one of the 6,250 buildings and activities part of an Open House festival thanks to the help of 14,460 volunteers. Collectively, Open House Worldwide is the largest celebration of the urban landscape in the world. The network was founded and is administered by Open City, a charity registered in the United Kingdom.
Since being founded in London in 1992, Open House Worldwide has engaged citizens, particularly from under-represented backgrounds, to learn about architecture and city making, and have a meaningful role in shaping their future.
Open House Queensland
Queensland’s first Open House program began in Brisbane in 2010 and the state is now home to three annual Open House programs – Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
Previous Open House programs have also been held in Maryborough, Toowoomba, Cairns and Bundaberg.
