Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre is the Gold Coast’s only dedicated Aboriginal cultural centre and is fully owned and operated by the local Aboriginal community.
At the centre, you can browse through paintings in the Art Gallery and see Aboriginal artefacts such as dilly bags, shields, boomerangs, didgeridoos and other tools and instruments that were part of every day life. Take a walk through the informative boardwalk display where you can further explore the traditional lives of the Yugambeh speaking people.
Note: photography of artwork is not permitted.
Gold Coast Open House proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our events are held, the Kombumerri and Yugambeh Language Group families of the Gold Coast. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their continuing connections to the lands, waters, wildlife and extended communities throughout South East Queensland.
