The Sheldon Cottage ‘Lindy’ is a small one-room cottage built by Vincent Sheldon. It is made of timber and clad in fibro, with a metal roof and a stone chimney. Vincent Sheldon (1895 - 1945) was a well known artist (etcher) who is represented in various galleries around Australia and overseas including the V&A Museum in England and the Queensland Art Gallery. He built this little artist cottage and most of the furniture contained within it. The house was moved to the museum in the 1970s, from the backyard of a home in Broadbeach, by his widow.

The Queensland Art Gallery has an etching of the studio, by Vincent Sheldon, in its collection of his drawings, etchings and paintings.
