BOOKINGS REQUIRED

The Gold Coast Desalination Plant turns seawater into drinking water and has been operating since 2009. Come behind the scenes and discover how desalination works, its critical role in providing drinking water and how we can move desalinated water around the region using the SEQ Water Grid.

Other details:

  • Minimum age requirement: 12 years+
  • Children 12 years above and must be accompanied by an adult
  • Please wear enclosed flat shoes, full length trousers, and long sleeved shirts.
  • Hard hats, vests and safety glasses supplied.
  • Photography is permitted at this venue in designated areas.
  • Please note participants will be required to walk up a flight of stairs in the pre-treatment building. All other elements of the tour are accessible.
  • The plant will be in operation so access to the reverse osmosis building is not permitted.
  • Tour duration approximately 45 minutes.
