Gold Coast Open House unlocks buildings, places and spaces right across the city, from heritage gems to sports venues and inspiring buildings, homes, churches, schools, universities, museums, art galleries, TV and radio stations, public utilities and workplaces that reflect our city’s unique architecture and urban design. Our Festival of Architecture weekend is free to attend however pre-registration is required. Please check our 2021 programme for all the details!
Gold Coast Open House – A Festival of Architecture will be held 16 & 17 October 2021 with panel discussions and self-guided tours available throughout the week prior.
Pre-registrations are required in 2021 due to new requirements introduced as a result of COVID-19. Some buildings do have limited capacities and safety requirements which also need to be taken into consideration by the volunteers supporting this community event. Registration details will be provided closer to the time of the Festival within the Event Programme section of this website.
All buildings, places and spaces in our 2021 programme are free to the public.
Gold Coast Open House relies on volunteers to assist in the facilitation of visits by the general public to all the buildings, places and spaces listed in our programme. If you have pride in your city and want to make a difference, register your interest to be an event volunteer as we unlock the doors to the Gold Coast’s most interesting buildings and spaces.

Yes! The Gold Coast is full of gems, big and small, unknown and known. If you have a building, place or space that you think would make a great addition to our program we would love to know about it. Our committee will review your suggestion and get back to you.
