KDV Golf & Tennis Academy

KDV Sport, the first building in its own right for Hiromi Lauren, formerly of Harry Seidler and Associates, won the Australian Institute of Architects Queensland design award for commercial architecture in 2017.

A $20 million makeover turned the former Carrara Gardens Golf Course into a state of the art, one stop sports complex that aims to produce world-class athletes.

The airy, transparent design is both distinctive and blends with the natural surrounds, letting outside in and inside out. Passing drivers can look through the building to see people using the gym, golf and tennis facilities.

Features include day and night golf course, chip and putt area, driving range, tennis clay and hardcourts, padel tennis courts, outdoor/undercover swimming pool, gym, sauna, ice baths, pro shop, mini golf, reception, restaurant, function rooms, outdoor BBQ area and children’s playground.

Sustainability features include rainwater harvesting and solar panels. Future expansion plans include 70-room student accommodation and multi-purpose sports field.
