Griffith University Aquatic Centre
Conrad Gargett, a leading practice in the sport and leisure spaces, designed and delivered the Griffith University Gold Coast Aquatic Centre which officially opened in 2017.
This world-class sports and recreation venue is built on 1.2 hectares at the heart of Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus.
It was purpose built as a venue that can be used for competition, training and recreation, by group training squads, university staff and students and the wider community.
Elite athletes trained there ahead of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. A 300 metre state of the art fitness centre overlooks a 50 metre FINA standard outdoor Olympic swimming pool.
Open plan design and a viewing terrace offer views of action by the pool, at the nearby athletic track and beyond to tree-lined hills on the horizon.
