Broadbeach Waters House
The total refurbishment of an existing 1960s waterfront residence by architect Bill Conrad resulted in the reinvigoration of a delightful home that might otherwise have been demolished.
The existing house had fallen into disrepair and required considerable maintenance. A few decades of previous renovations were uncovered during the works, including some existing 1960s features which were retained.
A layer of new finishes and cabinet work was added and a new entry was created, while the kitchen and dining rooms were re-planned and opened up.
New covered and louvered decks make the most of the spectacular waterfront views. The pool mosaic and diving board were retained in the pool refurbishment.
During the renovation, existing elements were reused as much as possible with new elements designed to complement the existing home.
The home received an RAIA State Commendation in 2016.
