Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre

With its gold flecked tiles and yellow ceiling features, the $105 million Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre is a glittering indoor sports stadium comprising two indoor halls connected by a pedestrian plaza.

Located next door to Metricon Stadium, the Centre was part of the precinct that hosted the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ opening and closing ceremonies. It also played a key role in the Games competition program as the home of badminton, para powerlifting, wrestling and weightlifting.

Features include two sports halls with mixed-use courts designed to accommodate  a range of sports such as basketball, netball, indoor soccer, badminton and more.

Bold vibrant colours and shimmering surfaces reflect the region’s sub-tropical character.

Sustainability initiatives include 280 solar panels on the roof of hall two and high efficiency LED lighting used throughout.

Post-Games, the centre now caters to a mix of elite training, competition and community uses.
